The Spring Ball is the twenty first episode of Filly Funtasia in the international episode order.

Story[]

Headmistress Sparkle plans on giving the crystal of wisdom to the master curator during the upcoming ball, and tasks the five main fillys with helping on preparations for it: Lynn and Bella work with dancing, Will and Cedric help Cookintot make the food, and Rose has to hold the speech. However, Will doesn't know how to cook and Rose is worried about her speech.

Rose and Bella are excited for the spring ball, while noticing Lynn reading a mysterious letter. They read it and it's from an unknown person wanting to be with her to dance. Lynn wants it to be kept secret. Bella says they can ask Sparkle to make an announcement during the ball. Meanwhile, Will reveals to Cedric that someone has invited him to the dance, and worries about it.

Battiwigs, who overheard the conversation between Sparkle and the five earlier, tells Wranglum about the crystal of wisdom. Wranglum is pleased and wants the crystal so he could be able to easily conquer Funtasia. The bat worries about the high probability of fillys being near the crystal when it comes time, but Wranglum tells the him to be sneaky.

Angelina, who Rose invited earlier, enters her dorm room as Rose worries about the speech. As a gift of thanks, she said Rose should make a wish for her to grant through Paradisia. Rose writes her wish for Angelina and she leaves with it, hoping she would return for the party and with good news. Cedric helps Cookintot cook food for the ball while Will's attempts causes a mess. Will tries to make his food better by using his mirror to copy Cedric's, but it backfires and turns Cedric's into a copy of his own instead. Cedric is unhappy about this turn of events. Bella and Lynn start preparing the dance while theorizing who wrote the note. However, their taste on what type of dance to prepare are different. Rose tries to think of a good speech to write, but couldn't. Battiwigs prepares for his mission to get the crystal.

Cedric and Will finish cooking their food for Cookintot, Lynn decorates while Bella dances, and Rose thinks not to write her speech but to speak from her heart. Battiwigs continues preparing and Wranglum tells him to take the mirror back to the academy basement. Sparkle comes in and congratulates the five for successfully preparing everything for the spring ball.

Rose prepares for her speech, Bella tries to find a good dress to use, and Will worries about whoever his secret admirer may be. Meanwhile, Amor tells Angelina about difficulties carrying out Rose's wish. Angelina thinks about leaving, and hopes Amor has good luck on sending the wish. Wranglum continues planning to have the ball be sabotaged to give them the opportunity to collect the crystal.

As everyone waits in the room, Headmistress Sparkle enters to place the crystal of wisdom onto a pedestal, and declares the spring ball has started. Lynn tries to find whoever sent her the note. Little does anyone know that Battiwigs and Wranglum sit on the rafters overhead, preparing to make the whole party chaotic for the dark wizard's scheme. As Bella starts going to change into her dress, Wranglum ruins it. Thinking Lynn is the one behind this, Bella angrily tells her about the ruined dress. As Bella dances, Wranglum secretly ruins the stage decorations, but she is blamed.

The dance begins as both Lynn and Will still don't know who their mysterious dancers are, but soon they realize they both sent them to each other. When it comes time to eat, Cedric, Will, and Rose find their food spicy, unaware that Battiwigs put peppers into their food. After eating, it became time for Rose to tell her speech. As she goes on stage, a turn of events causes a massive food fight to begin. Rose slips and falls from food that fell onstage, and Battiwigs takes the opportunity to grab the crystal.

Angelina appears, running late as Amor was having difficulties carrying out Rose's wish. As she approaches Rose, the wish finally comes through, undoing everything Wranglum did and forcing the crystal back to the pedestal. However, the dress ended up being given to Will. Rose then begins her speech, but not before telling about her wish. After this, the master curator is given the crystal of wisdom, and everyone cheers. The photographer, who took pictures of the unfortunate events that happened during the ball, commented on his images. The ball then continues as normal, while Battiwigs dances in the basement in front of Wranglum.

Interesting facts[]

This episode's dialogue mistakenly refers to Amor as Lola in most of versions.
- It doesn't occur in second English version airing in Singapore, though, where Angelina says the name correctly.
The photograph taken when Rose slips is mostly hidden until it is taken near the end of the episode

Animation errors[]

While Angelina talks with Amor, one of Amor's wings phases through hers for a moment.
When the photographer inspects the images he took, the images scroll slower than the background.

Version differences between languages[]

This episode aired in a different order for the Chinese version, being the fifth episode of its second season, with the previous being Art of Magic and the next being Funtasia Festival; Venezuelan La Tele Tuya gives it number 18;

In Singapore (via Channel 5 and meWATCH) it's episode number ten;
When Cedric and Will cook, all languages other than the Chinese version use the instrumental version of the song, Amigos.
